About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled M365 Data Migration Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing the migration of data to Microsoft 365 (M365) environments. You will work closely with various stakeholders across the Globe to ensure a smooth data migration with minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities: (Short)

  • Data Migration Planning: Develop comprehensive migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

  • Execution: Perform data migrations from various sources (e.g., on-premises servers, other cloud services) to M365, ensuring data integrity and security.

  • Collaboration: Work with IT teams, project managers, and end-users to gather requirements, provide updates, and address any issues that arise during the migration process.

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve migration-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, configurations, and any issues encountered.

  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users and IT staff on M365 functionalities and best practices post-migration.

Qualifications: (Short)

  • Education: bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience: Proven experience in data migration projects, specifically to M365 environments.

  • Technical Skills: 

    • Proficiency with M365 tools and services (e.g., SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams).

    • Experience with migration tools (e.g., ShareGate, Quest on Demand).

    • Strong understanding of data security and compliance requirements.

    • PowerShell

  • Soft Skills: 

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong problem-solving abilities.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Preferable skills:

  • M365 certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert).

  • Experience with hybrid environments and complex migration scenarios.

  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation.

Overall Objectives of Job:

  • Provide technical support for data migration to Office365.

  • As a L3 Administrator, you should be able to handle first point escalation for all technical and process issues. 

  • Provide technical subject matter expertise wherever required. 

  • Plan and schedule and implement Changes, Coordinating with different stakeholders. 

  • Perform RCA for Major Incidents and follow quality / security process defined for the engagement. 

  • Perform Trend analysis, identify top few incidents and work with respective teams/individual to minimize the incidents, Vendor coordination on issues to get optimum resolution.

  • Training of new team members & Able to work on Knowledge acquisition and updates to related documents.

  • Good Documentation skills.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In-depth knowledge and working experience on Microsoft365 suite and Hybrid scenarios.

  • Provide End user support regarding any O365 suite related issues or escalation. 

  • Monitor, Administer, Troubleshoot, and provide L3-Server Level of support for SharePoint Online

  • Keeping updated with the latest features and solutions for the products supported, and up-skilling as and when program demands. 

  • Responsible for Incident Management after data migration i.e., troubleshooting, and leading critical or urgent issues on email and driving them to resolution as per the agreed SLAs with customer. 

  • Handling user escalations from L2 teams. 

  • Willing to work in rotational shift as data migration normally happens outside the business hours and during the weekends.


Qualification, Experience, Technical and Functional Skills

  • Must have 8+ years working experience in supporting M365 technologies. 

  • Knowledge of O365 technologies such as Teams, Identity management & protection, SharePoint Online SSO, Conditional Access, Retention Policies.

  • Knowledge of tools like Metalogix, ShareGate, process and technologies like Active Directory, Azure RMS, Azure AD Connect, Microsoft FastTrack

  • Ensure compliance to internal standards, understand, and translate customer requirements into technical product increments.

  • Establish test plans, perform tests and documents results.

  • Perform basic support and debugging in test and production environment.

  • Extended knowledge about SharePoint modern pages, web parts and Office 365 groups.

  • Experience with migration of On-Premises File Shares to cloud solutions (Onedrive, Sharepoint Online)

  • Experience in implementation and support of M365 services including MS Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, PowerApps & Automate, Compliance & Security

  • Architect and document designs using best practices with a focus on security

  • Be the Subject Matter Expert for all components of M365 (MS Teams, Sharepoint Online, Onedrive, Security and Compliance, etc.)

  • Good understanding and hands on experience in working with Powershell. 

  • Experience in dealing with demanding customers, preferably in the financial sector.

  • Experience with ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Identity Manager etc.

  • Good Verbal and Written communication Skills.
