The following are a set of mandatory proficiencies with Azure APIM that the candidate is expected to demonstrate.

• Monitoring Configuration (Diagnostics Settings) API Management Service (Infrastructure & Application)

• Incident identification, diagnosis and resolution covering service availability, access and security.

• Azure Support Request covering associated components covering storage / deployment pipelines, etc.

• API Management Service Creation and Update (Provisioning) and associated Azure infrastructure spanning Alerts, Monitoring, VNets, resource groups and such.

• Security Configuration (Managed Identities, Certificates Management, Protocols and Ciphers and Access Control (IAM))

• Products & Subscription Management 

• APIs Lifecycle Management (Design, Creation, Versioning, Decommissioning, User authorization and authentication)

• API Scopes Policies Management

• Users and Groups Management (Portal Management)

• Backup/Restore

• Azure management reporting around cost and consumption and other associated reporting dashboards.

• Provision and Rotation of API Keys

• Support Developer Portal

Preferred:

• Experience in developing schemas (e.g., XSD, JSON, AVRO, etc.) and related data structures.

• Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment – Azure DevOps

• Experience in DevOps, Postman, PCF, GCP, Azure, Jenkins, GIT Hub.

• Experience with source control (e.g., GIT, MAVEN, VSS, Team Foundation).

• API Taxonomy, canonical schema definition, service registry definition

• Service Definition Development, API Standards, Policies Definition and Management.

• Experience implementing security such as OAuth, SAML, Single Sign On.

• Strong understanding of cloud-based platforms.

• Good understanding of competing and/or complementary products and technologies

• Experience in documenting API and other tools.
